In observance of World Day Against Child Labour (12 June 2026),awareness programmes were successfully conducted by Don Bosco Anbu Illam Open Shelter under the leadership of Director Fr. Amala Jeyarayan and Project Coordinator Fr. Vincent Vijayan at outreach centres.

The program were organized at the New Bus Stand Outreach Centre, Kichipalayam Corporation Middle School, and Chinnamma Palayam Corporation Primary School. Activities included awareness rallies, anti-child labour slogans, songs, dances, drawing competitions, video screenings on the importance of education, and interactions with students and the public.

Awareness pamphlets were distributed to the general public, and students were educated about the harmful effects of child labour and the importance of education. A total of around 130 students, teachers, staff members, and members of the public actively participated in these programmes.

The events were conducted successfully, spreading awareness and encouraging collective action against child labour.
