Mr. Meganathan and Mr. Sarathkumar were rescued in 2012 as bonded labourers by DBAI – Salem Childline. They were given shelter in Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam as the whereabouts of their parents couldn’t be traced. They grew up in Anbu Illam for 8 years. They were given education, technical and life skills. They were also placed in jobs. Mr. Meganathan continued his life in Anbu Illam as a Staff. After continuous search we succeeded in finding his family. And today in the presence of Salem District Child Protection Officer, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson and Member, and with Salem Anbu Illam Director and Staff, they were handed over to their parents. We are really grateful to all the Salesians and Staff who worked in Anbu Illam for accompanying the boys and helping them to re-integrate to their families.
