DBAI recognizes that vocational guidance and job placements are critical needs for young people today. Many have strong qualifications but struggle to find suitable employment opportunities. To address this need, DBAI established a centre for career guidance, training, and job placement under the umbrella of Don Bosco Vazhikaatti.
Vazhikaatti is committed to creating awareness among rural youth about available job opportunities in the government and private sectors, as well as through self-employment schemes and career-oriented services. The organisation extends its services to all central and southern districts of Tamil Nadu, with a regional office located in Salem.
Students seeking employment can register with Vazhikaatti, which helps them find suitable job opportunities. The organisation also conducts life skills training and career guidance programs in schools and colleges to prepare young people for the workforce. Mega events like Vetri Namadhe and job fairs are also organised by Vazhikaatti to provide opportunities for young people to connect with potential employers.
To support young people to enter government jobs, DBAI established the Salem Youth Empowerment Study Center (sYESc). This centre provides training and coaching for young people from marginalised communities seeking to enter the civil services. By working with various stakeholders, sYESc aims to provide world-class civil service coaching and support to help young people achieve their goals.
