Value Education for Children- Meeting in Creating a Child Friendly Society

In today’s world, it is crucial to instil egalitarian and democratic thinking among children. With this objective, a Constitutional Rights Education Workshop for NGOs was held on 26/07/2024. Representatives from 25 NGOs joined us for this collaborative effort.

The meeting kick-started with introductions and opening remarks, paving the way for a fruitful discussion. All speakers unanimously emphasized the importance of educating children about their values and rights, empowering them to understand and exercise them effectively.

Participants shared their experiences and strategies for educating children about the values & rights in their areas. Challenges and successes were discussed, contributing valuable insights into effective approaches. A key highlight was initiating children’s clubs in urban and rural areas, providing a supportive environment for engaging in learning about their rights and values.

We also laid plans to create educational materials, both digital and hard copy, to assist in teaching rights to students. Flashcards and pictorial books were suggested to make learning interactive and accessible. We aim to ensure impactful educational efforts, with participants sharing their approaches and strategies for achieving meaningful outcomes.

Additionally, we outlined future programs, including special events for children on significant dates such as August 15th (Independence Day) and November 26th (Constitution Day). These events will serve as key opportunities to promote rights education and engage children in learning.
