‘Self Awareness & Goal Setting’ Empowerment Training for Adolescent Boys
On March 27, 2024, Don Bosco Anbu Illam organized an empowerment training for adolescent boys from marginalized backgrounds. In our working villages, we regularly meet with these boys in our group meetings and have become aware of their current mindsets and attitudes. We recognized the need to provide them with more motivation and proper guidance for their holistic development. We collected suggestions from the boys and planned a Life Skills Training program for them. To facilitate this, we invited Mr. Jeyapaul, a former CWC (Child Welfare Committee) Chairperson and experienced life skills trainer. He conducted wonderful sessions on self-awareness, trust and support, and understanding short-term and long-term goals through various activities such as “River of Life,” “Beautiful, Ok, Ugly,” and energizers. The boys provided very positive feedback about the training and actively participated throughout. Their enthusiasm and engagement gave us more positive energy.
