DBAI Core Team meets to Safeguard Children

Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem Core Team came together through Google meet to discuss about the safeguarding measures to be taken to tackle the Covid virus affecting the children. The team met through Google meet in line with Covid-19 guidelines. There were 15 participants from the various projects. Lot of ideas and measures were discussed and put forth. It was a fruitful discussion. The team showed eagerness and enthusiasm to be with the Children who are at risk and help them at this difficult time due to this Corona pandemic. World Health organization have warned of the third Corona wave affecting the children most. So as Child Welfare organization we have the moral duty to protect and safeguard the children being affected by Covid-19. A few timely decisions were made to help the children at risk. It was also decided to look for funding of the various projects from various donors and agencies.

The Core Team decided the following measures.

1. Relief work for the families those who are affected / admitted (or) Hospitalized in Covid.

2. Providing Kabasura kudineer to the people.

3. Help Desk for children for Counselling / Psychosocial Support.

4. Providing nutritious food for people in need in co-ordination with Salem corporation.

5. Mobilizing health and safety kits and distributing to the needy.

6. Providing Grocery items for our DBAI Boys family.

7. Creating awareness about Covid-19 and the safeguarding measures through Social Media.

8. Mobilizing Volunteers / Youth / Communities to reach out to people for distribution.

9. Providing Information to Panchayat leaders and Health Work sanitizer about helping the children of Covid positive parents.

10. Placing IEC Materials in Covid Care Centers and distributing to various areas in Salem.

11. Libraries / Recreation facilities in Covid Care Centers.

12. Accommodation for children of Covid infected parents.
