Celebrating Women’s Day with the Future Changemakers
Today, we at Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem, organized a special Women’s Day program for the children, students of the Continue Education Center, and our staff. It was a space for reflection, respect, and empowerment.
We started off with a thought-provoking question: “Who is the most important woman in your life?” The students shared heartfelt responses, recognizing the invisible strength of women in their everyday lives.
The boys at the centre took a moment to honour the girls, expressing their appreciation for the acts of kindness and support they have received. This simple yet powerful activity helped break gender biases and promote mutual respect.
We also watched an inspiring Nari Shakti video, which sparked discussions on why Women’s Day is celebrated, the importance of gender equality, the value of and respect for women at home and in society, and how girls’ education shapes a better future.
We extended our appreciation to the women staff members of Don Bosco Anbu Illam, and the students honoured them with heartfelt greetings. Together, we watched a Women’s Anthem video, celebrating women across various fields of work.
Our Women’s Pledge Tree provided a moment of reflection, where our dedicated staff promised to live for their dreams. To symbolize this commitment, we planted a rose sapling, signifying growth, resilience, and empowerment.
The session ended with a powerful reminder: “When we support girls and women, we are making our whole society better!”
