Empowering Future Social Workers at Don Bosco Anbu Illam!
On August 6th, we had the immense joy of welcoming 44 Master of Social Work students from Sacred Heart College for an enriching exposure visit. This initiative aimed to provide these future social workers with invaluable insights into community-focused social work, enhancing their understanding of the legalities surrounding child protection, particularly under the JJ Act.
Our Director, Rev. Dr. Casimir Raj.M, opened the session with a heartfelt song about street children, setting an inspiring tone for the day. Mr. Xavier shared deep insights into our organization’s impactful activities, insights about the JJ Act and the importance of valuing children’s voices. Ms. Lincy Florencia highlighted our child-friendly initiatives and our collaborations with stakeholders to foster a society where children can thrive!
Fr. Casimir engaged our guests in a thought-provoking discussion on viewing young people as resources rather than problems, leaving everyone with powerful takeaways. He also explained the need to have proper knowledge about laws, police and schemes related to children & women. A heartfelt vote of thanks from one of the students wonderfully wrapped up this enlightening session.
At Don Bosco Anbu Illam, we are proud to contribute to creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child. Together, let’s continue to empower the next generation of social workers!
