A significant milestone in the advocacy efforts of the Child Friendly Salem initiative was achieved on 06 February 2026, when the Children’s Manifesto 2026, prepared by the team of Don Bosco Anbu Illam, was personally submitted to Kanimozhi Karunanidhi at Thongum Poonga Marriage Hall. The manifesto was developed by gathering the voices, concerns, and aspirations of children from different communities, highlighting key issues related to education, protection, health, and social security. Through this initiative, the organization sought to ensure that children’s perspectives are heard at the policy-making level and that their needs are reflected in governance and development priorities.

During the meeting, the team shared the importance of child participation in democratic processes and emphasized the need for policies that respond to the real challenges faced by children at the grassroots level. The submission created a meaningful platform for children’s voices to reach national leadership and strengthened advocacy efforts toward a child-friendly and rights-based society.

This initiative stands as a powerful example of how collective advocacy can amplify the voices of children and influence decision-makers.
