International Day Against Drug Abuse
Protecting Young Minds: Creating a Drug-Free Future”*
On this International Day Against Drug Abuse, the Don Bosco Anbu Illam team organized an impactful awareness session at Government High School, Pudhu Street, for 9th standard students.
🎯 The session began with an icebreaking activity that helped children reflect on their goals and recognize distractions that can derail their path.
🎬 Two thought-provoking short films were screened:
- One on the harmful effects of smoking,
- Another focusing on prevention and the power to say NO to drugs.
🗣️ A vibrant interactive discussion followed, giving children the space to share, ask, and understand.
🎨 Children were then grouped for a *creative chart-making activity, where they showcased their *team spirit and awareness through powerful visuals.
📚 The session also covered the 5 stages of addiction, helping them understand how drug use progresses and why early prevention is crucial.
✅ The workshop concluded with a feedback session, capturing the voices of 40 enthusiastic young participants.
