Every year, February 9 is observed as Abolition of Bonded Labour Day, an important step towards eradicating modern slavery. To support this mission, Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam – Don Bosco Anbu Illam Salem (DBAI-S) organized a signature campaign on February 18, 2025, at Attayampatti Bus Stand, creating awareness among the public.

This event was presided over by Dr. Casimir Raj, Director of Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam (DBAI-S). Over 300 people participated, taking a pledge for a bonded labour-free Tamil Nadu. Key officials, including Salem District Labour Welfare Department Assistant Inspector Mr. Ilayaraja, Attayampatti Police Station Sub-Inspector Mr. Kamaraj, National Law Foundation Founder Mr. Sethupathi, Director, Mr. Sabapathi, and Financial Management Director Mr. Manikandan, emphasized the importance of collective action.
