Standing Strong for Our Children’s Rights!

November 14th, 2024, the dedicated Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem team joined our amazing children and dropout centre students to take a powerful oath to protect children’s rights!

We were honoured to read a heartfelt letter from Thiru Johny Tom Varghese IAS, Director of the Department of Children Welfare and Special Services, which emphasized essential rights: the right to life, growth, protection, and participation. Our very own Rev. Dr. Casimir Raj.M shared the significance of this message, urging our children to face challenges bravely and be vigilant against any form of abuse.

Knowledge is power! We reminded everyone of the vital Child Helpline 1098, a resource every child can use to report issues safely. Furthermore, we highlighted the Anti-Child Marriage Act, ensuring that no child is forced into marriage before the age of 18 for girls and 21 for boys. We believe awareness is the first step toward prevention!
