Celebrating World Ozone Day at Don Bosco Anbu Illam!
On September 16, 2024, Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam proudly marked World Ozone Day by hosting various engaging drawing activities at our community resource centres. This day, recognized by the World Customs Organization (WCO), highlights the crucial work of the Montreal Protocol aimed at eliminating ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and reducing the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which are harmful to our climate.
Over 600 children, aged 5 to 18, from our 50 community resource centres participated in this creative initiative. They explored the significance of protecting the ozone layer through fun and interactive art projects! The day’s theme, “Protecting the Ozone Layer for a Healthier Planet,” inspired participants to channel their understanding of environmental preservation into their artwork.
In addition to the art activities, we encouraged the participants to become environmental champions by adopting simple changes in their daily lives, such as saving energy, minimizing waste, and being conscious of the products they choose. Together, we can create a positive impact and safeguard our planet for the generations to come!
