Voices for Change: Promoting Child Welfare and Community Development

On this special day, Gandhi Jayanti (October 2, 2024), the Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam Staff team, along with dedicated community volunteers and support group members, took action at Gram Sabha meetings in 36 villages across Salem and Namakkal districts.

We spoke out for child safety, education, the prevention of child marriages, Child Labour and the creation of child-friendly villages.

Our staff also highlighted the critical role of Village Level Child Protection Committees (VLCPC) and School Management Committees (SMC) in driving these changes.

One of the key moments was the active involvement of our community support group members, who presented their village needs and submitted petitions to address shared concerns. Prior to the meetings, we worked closely with these groups, guiding and empowering them to use this platform effectively.

Together, we’re building stronger, safer communities for our children.
