Sivaranjani

Success story – Don Bosco Anbu Illam

Sivaranjani

Sivaranjani is 26 years old. She has been living with her family in the Pudupatti area for fifteen years. She is a member of SHG running at Puthupatti village. Her husband is a stroke patient. So he could not go to work. She has a 3 years old son. Both her Father-in-law and mother-in-law are unwell. So Shivaranjani accepted the entire family burden in her shoulder. Sivaranjani worked for daily wages and took care of the family. She was unable to go to work due to the curfew. The family was starving without getting proper food. Thus, the medical expenses of the ailing husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law could not be taken care of as they have no source of income.

The community support group discussed with the staffs of DBAI about Sivaranjani’s condition and suggested that she would be given Micro grant which would be helpful to that poor family.  Accordingly, she was provided micro grant of Rs.2000 in her bank account after the proper verification. She is currently engaged in poultry farming with this micro grant. She said, “Our family is living in extreme poverty due to the drought. We could not even afford to buy milk for the baby. Considering our family situation DBAI helped me by giving micro grant of Rs.2000. I am currently involved in poultry farming with this money. My heartfelt thanks to Freedom Fund and Don Bosco Anbu Illam who paved the way for us to earn an income. “
